What is sports massage insurance?
Working with clients who suffer from different aches and pains requires care, precision and attention to detail. However, even with the most meticulous methods, you could still be deemed negligent in some way, which is why having sports massage insurance is essential.
Without this, you could be facing extremely costly legal action if one of your clients gets injured. Not only this, you would also be liable if you damage third party property.
Fortunately, we offer bespoke sports massage insurance to protect you against the above and more. This cover includes Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Personal Accident, Loss of Earnings, Employer’s Liability, Sports Equipment and Worldwide cover.
Why do I need Public Liability insurance?
When you’re treating someone who already has an injury, the last thing you want is to make their injury worse.
However, for all the training and expertise required to be a sports massage therapist, there may be the odd occasion where something goes wrong due to factors beyond your control.
If a client ends up injuring themselves during one of your massage sessions and they blame you for their injuries, you may find yourself on the end of a costly compensation claim, which is why you need Public Liability insurance.
Public Liability insurance protects your legal liability if a claim is made against you for injury to another person or property damage.
Our Public Liability insurance includes up to £10 million of cover.
This includes up to £1 million of Professional Indemnity cover, protecting you from any claims made following advice you give to a client regarding their injuries.
Why do I need Personal Accident cover?
While your job is primarily to relieve injuries, you’ll be well aware of the risks of sustaining an injury yourself.
There’s always a chance you could trip over the massage table and end up injuring yourself which may leave you unable to work and in need of medical treatment.
To help you mitigate the impact of such injuries, we provide Personal Accident cover up to £50,000, which covers you if you’re admitted to hospital or require physiotherapy or dental treatment.
This cover also provides a benefit for accidental death and permanent total disablement.
On top of this, we offer Loss of Earnings cover which provides you with up to £750 a week of compensation for up to 52 weeks.
Why do I need Equipment cover?
As you’ll know, the equipment required to do your job, such as massage tables, can be very expensive and difficult to replace. If your massage table was lost, stolen or damaged and you didn’t have Equipment cover, you’d have to pay for repairs and replacements out of your own pocket.
That’s why Insure4Sport offers Equipment cover for kit up to £250. If your equipment is less than a year old - and you bought it new - we’ll replace it New-for-Old and repair/replace items up to the amount stated in your Insurance Schedule.
