Why should I consider golf insurance?
No matter how good you are at golf or how long you’ve been playing, accidents can happen out on the course.
From stray balls and wayward shots causing injury to potential theft or damage to your prized (and often expensive) golf equipment, the sport we love can carry its risks.
That’s why you may want to consider golf insurance for added peace of mind that you’ll be covered should something go wrong when playing.
Say ‘hello’ to specialist golf insurance through Insure4Sport—tailored cover to protect your rounds.
What does golf insurance cover?
There are four golf insurance packages to choose from through Insure4Sport: Lite, Standard, Advanced, or Premier.
Regardless of which package you choose, you’ll get the following as standard:
- Public Liability up to £5m
- Third Party Property Damage cover up to £2.5k
- Worldwide cover
- Hole-in-one drinks bill cover up to £100*
*You can claim up to £100 for the drinks bar bill at your clubhouse if you achieve a hole-in-one during a recognised golf tournament, subject to the requirements in the Insurance Booklet.
However, each policy package comes with a different level of golf equipment insurance, as follows:
When taking out golf insurance through Insure4Sport, choose your policy based on how much your golf equipment is worth, and how much you want to include on your policy.
Your equipment could include your clubs, balls, bags, trolleys, clothing, rangefinders, and other golf accessories.
Golf Equipment Insurance
Through Insure4Sport, your golf equipment will be covered against theft, loss, and damage while travelling to and from the golf course, and during your round. You’ll also have the option to extend this to 24-hour cover should you wish.
We’ll replace any lost or damaged golf equipment up to three years old on a ‘New for Old’ basis, providing you have proof of original purchase.
More information on New for Old cover can be found in the FAQs section.
Golf Public Liability Insurance

This can protect you should a third-party make a claim against you for injury or damage, covering any associated costs and legal fees.
Third-Party Property Damage
It’s not just people that can get hurt by a wayward golf shot—surrounding buildings and other property, such as cars, can also be at risk.
Third-Party Property Damage cover through Insure4Sport means you’ll be covered up to £2.5k if someone makes a claim against you for accidents such as broken windows, dented cars, and other similar property damage.
Hole-in-One Insurance
There’s nothing sweeter in golf than hitting a hole-in-one. But for those lucky enough to hit one, longstanding golfing tradition means the drinks are supposedly on you in the clubhouse afterwards.
Depending on the size of your group, that might end up costing you a few quid. But fear not, Hole-in-One insurance through Insure4Sport means you can claim back up to £100 from your drinks bill, providing your hole-in-one was hit and recorded in a recognised golf tournament.
Golf Travel Insurance
We all love our local golf courses, but sometimes, nothing beats jetting off on a golf holiday to experience a different kind of golf.
Golf insurance through Insure4Sport also includes golf travel insurance as standard, which automatically covers you to play golf in the UK and worldwide (including the USA and Canada), providing you are a full-time UK resident.
So, whether you’re a once-a-year traveller or a more regular globetrotter, you can rest assured you’ll be covered.
How much does golf insurance cost?
