Whether you’re a seasoned Pilates instructor, new to teaching, or regularly participate in Pilates classes, Pilates insurance through Insure4Sport covers instructors and participants of mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, or any other equipment-based Pilates classes.

Just like any sport, Pilates can come with risks, and specialist Pilates insurance can help protect you and your Pilates equipment should the worst happen.

If you decide to get a Pilates insurance policy through Insure4Sport, there are two options available to you:

  • Pilates insurance: This cover option is tailored to suit individuals participating in Pilates classes in person, at home, or those who practice alone, and includes personal accident and public liability cover.
  • Pilates instructor insurance: Pilates teacher or instructor insurance policies include all options available within a Pilates insurance policy but with the addition of Professional Indemnity and Employers’ Liability cover.

Why consider specialist Pilates insurance?

Having Pilates insurance in place can provide financial protection and peace of mind so you can practise or teach Pilates with confidence, knowing should anything happen, you are protected.

  • Your Pilates equipment is lost, stolen or accidentally damaged (e.g. reformer bed or Pilates ring)
  • You suffer a serious injury while practising Pilates

If you take out a Pilates teacher insurance policy through Insure4Sport, this also applies to:

  • A client making a claim against you after becoming injured while following your guidance in a Pilates class
  • An employee of your Pilates business making a claim against you for injury or illness while in your employment

Do I need insurance to teach Pilates?

You are not legally required to have insurance in place as a Pilates teacher. However, many gyms and studios will require you to have some form of third-party liability insurance to work on the premises. You may also want to consider obtaining specialist Pilates teacher insurance to provide financial protection and peace of mind.

For example, if one of your clients were to injure themselves or cause damage to third-party property while under your instruction, Public Liability cover may help cover some or all of the legal costs if they choose to make a claim against you.

Do I need Pilates instructor insurance to teach online?

For instance, if you were to injure yourself while teaching a class, or someone you were teaching injured themselves at home, having Pilates insurance in place through Insure4Sport could provide personal accident and loss of earnings cover.
